Ingredients


Makes: 6 servings
  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 1-2 Tbsp (15-30 ml) Tzaziki Dip Mix
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) oregano
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) crushed Chilies, or cayenne pepper
  • Sea Salt (Grinder), to taste
  • Black Pepper (Grinder), to taste
  • 6 pitas
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped

Preparation


 
  • Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C).
  • Place beef in a large bowl and sprinkle with Tzaziki Dip Mix, oregano, flour, crushed chilies and Sea Salt and Pepper.
  • Using your hands, mix and knead until well blended. Ensure you really work the meat to get the smooth texture of authentic donair meat. For best results, whirl in a food processor.
  • For better browning and faster cooking, shape into 2 small loaves. Place on parchment-lined Sheet Pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until firm and cooked through.
  • Let stand 5–8 minutes. Thinly slice using a very sharp knife.
